21.5.09 My new professionally designed website avocetphotography.info has now gone live, follow the link at the bottom right. 2.3.09 I've decided to streamline things a little. All mainline UK trains collections have been moved to my alternate collection "Because life is not always black and white", follow link at bottom right of page. To accomodate this virtually all of the material there, which was mostly old, dated and shot on print or slide has been deleted. A few of the digital ones have been incorporated into this gallery.
Still considering a revamp of the site in the future, as I've known from the beginning that it's a bit disjointed and not easy to navigate around. Got to work out now how to rectify that best.
I have had material published far and wide, for the last 11 years. In September 2004, I went full time as a freelancer and this gallery is primarily aimed at displaying low res copies of some of my sports and general environmental photography work. From the outset I will be exhibiting digital work only. If you wish to receive higher res material (typically jpegs between 2-7mg), all shot between 6-12 million pixels, then please contact me by leaving a message, via the box below. Or call me on 07875 213556. Note, my photos are not royalty free. I invest time, money and energy in them. If you're content with free pictures, that you see in a gazillion places, please look elsewhere. If you want very reasonably priced original material, and like what you see, then please get in touch.
Most of this work has been shot raw and I have now have the capability to supply these shots as TIFS, upto 34 mb + each.
As a reminder don't forget to click on the more collections section at the foot of the page, which should bring up a lot more images. Total no of photos on gallery over 2350.
This gallery concentrates on environmental stock photography, but should you wish to look at railway images, click on the link to "BECAUSE LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS BLACK & WHITE" . My fairly static website avocetphotography.info is meant to give you more of an insight to my business and the photography on it will not be updated as frequently.

Handsome, witty and charming is how I'm often described, when I've got them in a full nelson.
I'm in my late forties (well overdue my little red sports car) and in 2001 undertook a 2 year ND in photography at my local college. I set up Avocet Photography in September 2004. Being an ex-EHO, I particularly enjoy work in the environmental field.
I have Tourette's, but work through it and means I'm interesting company! If you wish to know more about Tourette Syndrome try www.tourettes-action.org.uk
